My husband Bill and I live in San Jose, and are putting the last finishing touches on a multi-year large-scale remodel. The joke is that the only thing we are keeping is the address, and the irony is we have removed the 1940s-era backlit house number, rebuilt it, and have reinstalled it. So, yes, the only thing we are truly keeping is the address. We have maintained a robust sense of humor during the remodel with a ready supply of puns.
In 2022, we lost the house princess Kyro, a Basenji, but continue forward with the ever-young Hank, who is half terrier, half comedian.
Since 2008, my husband and I have been involved in the AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles to raise money for AIDS and HIV services. I have been a rider twice and a roadie three times, and a volunteer over the last year. Lots of miles, lots of hours, but an immensely gratifying experience to help support raising millions of dollars for such a worthy cause. We are also both very active in our neighborhood, especially with expanding trails in the South Bay.
I was very grateful to attend SXSW for the first time in 2015 and found it so inspirational and energizing that I hope to attend again in the near future. Highly recommended!
